— And? — Well… I have only sold 30 or 40. Maybe.
— ¿Solo?
— Why? — Because I was giving them away. They were included in a membership.
— What membership? — One I had.
— What the hell is wrong with you today?
Good question.
I guess I have to assume something…
Maybe I am a better Spanish teacher than book seller.
Honestly. What do I know?

Key Vocabulary
Juan Nadie — “John Nobody.” Nadie means “nobody/no one.” The opposite is alguien (someone). A man called Nobody who sells his soul — that’s literature.
Esa imaginación es poderosa — That imagination is powerful. Poderoso/a comes from poder (power/to be able). Same root as no puedo (I can’t) and puedo hacerlo (I can do it).
Besos y amol — “Kisses and love” in madrileño accent. In Madrid, the final -r is often softened. Amor becomes amol. Affectionate and very local.
No es para tanto — It’s not a big deal. Used constantly in Spain to downplay things.
