The Little Prince was walking on Earth one afternoon, the sky freshly washed. Una tarde tranquila, con el cielo limpio.
He had learned this already: this planet is full of grown-ups running fast and seeing very little. Gente grande con mucha prisa y poca atención.
So he looked for quiet places. Lugares sin ruido.
That’s where he saw her. A little girl drawing circles in the sand with a stick. Una niña dibujando en la arena. Not sad. Not happy. No triste. No feliz. Just present. Solo ahí.
— What are you drawing? — he asked.
— Un lugar donde nadie me meta prisa — she said. (A place where nobody rushes me.)
— On my planet there are no clocks. En mi planeta no hay relojes. Just one rose and three volcanoes. Solo una rosa y tres volcanes.
— Then it must be very small. Debe ser pequeño.
— Yes — he replied — but everything that matters fits. Sí, pero todo lo importante cabe.
They sat together in silence. Se sentaron en silencio.
— Grown-ups think understanding is explaining. Los grandes creen que entender es explicar.
— I think understanding is staying. Yo creo que es quedarse.
The Little Prince thought about his rose. Pensó en su rosa.
— Yes — he said softly — that’s why I have to go back. Sí, por eso tengo que volver.
— Some people arrive just to remind us of something. Algunas personas vienen a recordarnos algo.
— What will you remind me of? ¿Qué me recordarás?
— That I’m not alone when I look at the sky. Que no estoy sola cuando miro el cielo.
When he left, the stars were starting to appear. And now, whenever she looks up in silence, she says:
— Estoy escuchando a un amigo.
Por Qué Este Formato Funciona Para Aprender Español
Reading bilingual stories — where English and Spanish appear together — is one of the fastest ways to build reading comprehension. Your brain connects the meaning directly without going through translation. You start to feel Spanish rather than decode it.
That’s the whole method. Stories first. Grammar later. Siempre mira arriba.
📖 This method is in the book.
